 Joan Burge is the founder and CEO of Office Dynamics, an international leader in the development and presentation of sophisticated training programs and information for administrative office professionals. Joan has more than 35 years experience in the administrative arena, training, speaking, entrepreneurship and innovation. Joan equips administrative professionals to move beyond task work to higher-level functions to meet the ever-changing demands of today’s workplace. Joan works with high-level executives to ensure they are fully utilizing the talents of their assistants and provides insight as to how they can improve their overall working relationships.
Joan is best known for her Star Achievement Series®, a 12-part curriculum designed to bring out the star performance in administrative assistants, support and front line staff. She is the creator and host of the Annual Forum for Administrative Excellence. She is the developer and presenter of a high-level assistant certificate program called World Class Assistant (Parts 1, 2 and 3). She is also the creator of a leadership program called How to Maximize the Time and Talents of Your Assistant. Joan has provided guidance, continuity of purpose and mentoring to administrative professionals and their managers. Her programs have resulted in significant productivity increased to her clients including Nokia, Caterpillar, Boeing, The Schwan Food Co., Procter & Gamble, Humana, Churchill Downs, Cisco Systems, Synopsys, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Joan is the author of 3 books, 15 workbooks, and is the editor of Monday Motivators, and has been published in more than 75 trade journals. Joan’s groundbreaking book, Become an Inner Circle is making great strides as she works on a new book to be released in 2009 in time for Administrative Professionals Day! Joan is a member of the American Society for Training & Development, the Southern Nevada Human Resource Association, and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
Before starting Office Dynamics in 1990, Joan worked as an administrative professional for 20 years in 12 different companies in 5 states. She worked her way up from receptionist to assisting CEOs. She worked in a variety of industries ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
