Two weeks ago, I was presenting a workshop for executives and their executive assistants. One of the executives shared, what I considered, a brilliant idea. He hands out his executive assistant's business card when he has told someone in person that he wants an appointment with them or they requested an appointment with him. Since his executive assistant manages his calendar, he hands the person her business card so this way the other person can easily and quickly contact her. As an executive assistant, do you have a business card? If not, you might make a case for getting approval for cards. If you have a business card, give a few to your executive to hand out. This will save time and sends a clear message to the other person that you are the stragetic business partner and all calendar items are arranged through you.
