Hello Monday Motivators!
I go to school every day. Do you?
I imagine many of you were glued to football yesterday. I could not tell you a thing about who, what, where and when because I have been very focused on Office Dynamics' vision for 2012 and beyond. I have been putting in 16 hour days but do not be concerned as I am loving every minute of it. I am in my zone; my flow-which I have not felt for 5 years due to many personal challenges.
Actually, I haven't felt this great with my creative thoughts and bringing ideas forth to help administrative and executive assistants worldwide improve the quality of their work life and become the star they were destined to be since when I first started Office Dynamics. Really! I feel the same passion, dedication, commitment and energy as when I first started my company in 1990. Of course, the OD team would tell you that I am wearing them out and we are only 3 weeks into 2012.
I do take my necessary breaks so it is all fine. In fact, wellness is on the top of my list this year. I have much more exciting news to follow in the months to come on how we can help you.
I go to school every day. My learning takes place anywhere, anytime with any one. Today, when I attended service, our pastor said many things that I could relate to several facets of my life. I listen to educational/inspirational CDs most of the time when I am in my car. (Yes, CDs are still sold.) I have several series of educational CDs from successful people who I admire and want to learn from. I play them over and over because I will hear something I have not heard before. Also, we learn through repetition. I have been doing this for 20+ years.
I learn by observing, listening, and paying close attention to people? What do I like about what they did or said; what did I not like? I read little chunks of information all day. I love words because one word can change the entire meaning of something. I carefully listen and read words other people use and I continue to work on expanding my vocabulary. I listen to my clients, executive assistants in class, and pay close attention to the various work environments when I go on site for training or coaching. But I don't get hung up in the minutia. Our world is a fascinating place.
Being a good student takes having an open mind. It takes curiosity; asking why?
The world is changing daily at a wild pace. Just to keep your head above water, you have be a student every day. To experience personal and/or professional success, you have to be an eager and hungry student every day.
I hope you have a terrific week. Remember . . . you don't know what you don't know.
