Our third annual blog-a-thon is just around the corner (beginning next Friday, April 1) and I can hardly contain myself. We have extremely cool prizes and they are so easy to win! All you have to do is read the blogs and share your comments every day. Or one day (but every day gives you a whole lot more chances to win). Last year I had to upgrade my fishbowl to a medium box, then to a big box to hold all of the comments we were receiving - yes, we really do DRAW the names/comments for our winners.
As administrative assistants and executive assistants, you sometimes feel like you can’t set boundaries or you might get fired or your leader will think you are not a team player. Some people think when I’m talking about setting boundaries, they have to do with sexual harassment in the workplace.

Good morning, Monday Motivators! How would you describe your e-mail situation lately? Are you getting so much that it’s sometimes impossible to manage it properly and still be productive? Do you worry you’ll hit the “send” button too soon, and deliver a message before its ready? Take heart….You’re not alone!

The recent situation in Japan is heavy on our minds. We have colleagues and loved ones in harm’s way. We are burdened with thoughts of how we can reach out to those in need. We also reflect on our own lives and realize our fears and concerns about our future and the unknown.

Today’s Best of the Web was shared with us by one of our favorite administrative professionals. Thanks!
At Office Dynamics, we are noticing a tremendous amount of interest in executive assistant certification or administrative assistant certification courses or programs. We regularly see interest in our World Class Assistant Certification program or our Star Achievement Series Certification and Designation curriculum.
Success is 95% habit. Successful people are those who have developed good habits and follow them over and over. Unsuccessful people have poor habits or don’t have good habits. If you develop good habits, they become automatic. Spring certainly is the time to think about which new habits you want to grow. It’s also the time to get rid of weeds. Such as wasting time on tasks of low value, not being organized, poor communication skills or having a closed mind to new opportunities. This week, work on weeding your garden and growing new habits.
