16th Annual Administrative Excellence Conference Huge Success!

Posted by: Joan Burge on 10/26/2009

The 16th Annual Conference for Administrative Excellence was one of our best ever thanks to our fabulous speakers, energetic attendees, and the fantastic customer service from Red Rock Resort and Spa. From our opening reception at Cherry nightclub to our closing motivational speaker, Judi Moreo, attendees were engaged and inspired.

The biggest hit was the announcement of Adminology™ -- a new culture and approach to the future administrative profession being created by Joan Burge and Office Dynamics. After providing our attendees with insight into Adminology, the Office Dynamics team handed special gift bags to everyone containing stylish Adminology mouse pads, coffee mugs and post-it cubes. (Coming to our shopping cart soon!)

Vibrant and insightful speakers covered topics ranging from Staying Rational with Today's Workplace Demands to The Visible Assistant, The Techno-Savvy Assistant to Managing My Career. Joan Burge will be blogging about each topic this week so be sure to check out the blogs and learn some notable tips.

Jasmine Freeman (Office Dynamics) and Will Paccione (WSI) opened our eyes and generated conversation from the audience on social networking. With Joan as the interviewer for this segment, they kept attendees wide awake at 5:00 in the afternoon. This was so well received, that we are inviting Will Paccione back for our 2010 conference.

Valerie Murzl, VP of Human Resources for Station Casinos, kicked off our Friday morning in a spectacular way leading to a standing ovation. We have also asked Valerie to come back in 2010.

Our attendees were speechless when our surprise guest, Jennifer Joseph, appeared at noon on Friday in our meeting room and gave a fantastic singing performance starting out with Feeling Good. (Jennifer was Miss Nevada and received the talent award at Miss America.)

Thanks to all our attendees who came from across the country and Canada representing 46 different organizations from various industries. With many first-time attendees, the group started to gel with the opening day teambuilding activity (an Office Dynamics tradition) facilitated by Joan Burge.

The 2 days went so fast that the attendees voted to extend the conference to 2 1/2 days -- and they want to stay in Las Vegas at the fabulous Red Rock Resort.

Stay tuned for details on our 2010 conference. We promise to make it even bigger!

    • The conference was very energizing and entertaining. I'm kind of a wall flower in large groups but I had a great time meeting people from other organizations, and even from my own that I didn't know were going. My manager was pleased with all the feedback I gave her about the conference and all Office Dynamics is doing for our profession. It is so desperately needed. The Red Rock Resort is fabulous and I highly recommend everybody try and make the next annual conference.
